Category Sales Manager – Flavours and Ingredients

 

Are you experienced in selling raw materials and bespoke ingredients/compounds to F&F houses?

Do you want to take ownership of the growth strategy for a fast growing international business?

This is a newly created role within a highly reputable ingredients supplier who are looking to appoint somebody to take ownership of their ‘trade’ customers – primarily F&F houses and ingredients suppliers. This will support their ambitious growth plans and help to shape the direction and growth of the business in the UK and internationally.

 

The Role

  • You will be part of the senior leadership team, with the ability to contribute to and influence sales strategy at a stage of exciting and sustainable growth
  • In liaison with the Sales & Marketing Director, you will lead the development and implementation of the company’s strategy and sales & marketing activities in the category of food and beverage manufacturing brands (Trade) to maximise sales growth across new and existing customers, in line with our sales strategy.
  • You will be working with some of the biggest food and beverage brands in the world, helping them to develop innovative new food and drink ranges using flavours from across the world
  • You will be joining a dynamic and creative team with the opportunity to work cross-functionally with our talented and experienced flavourists, creative solutions and technical teams

  • A lead role in the WCM programme for the Sales & Marketing Team, for all activities targeted at ‘Trade’ customers, to drive continuous improvement and best practice
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Director to develop and execute Sales strategy to achieve sales targets in line with Company objectives to grow our ‘Trade’ category sales to new and existing customers
  • Contribute to general sales strategy discussions and participate in departmental sales and project meetings
  • Manage relevant sales team activities to maximise new business development, balanced with existing key customer management
  • Direct Key Account Management of a number of selected key accounts
  • Develop and nurture new and existing customers globally, directly or in liaison with the relevant Sales Manager, partnering with them to understand their business needs and objectives and developing them to optimise sales
  • Input ideas to new product development discussions, working closely with the Creative Solutions team on project briefs and presenting flavours and ingredients to customers in a range of food and beverage applications

 

Ideal Candidate:

 

  • Proven sales leadership skills
  • Demonstrable track record of success in sales in flavour/food ingredients to Flavour Houses/Seasonings Companies
  • Ability to think strategically with an ability to assess, prioritise and interpret business performance and plans
  • Willingness to travel – significant travel in the UK and to export markets will be required
  • Strong customer management skills and ability and desire to create and develop trusting relationships
